I have a question regarding the SysOnchip Plus and laptop operation. I got the SysOnchip to work from the PCMIA slot but feel the card is a bit vulnerable sticking out of the slot so I tried to connect the SysOnchip to a card reader and the USB connection. I loaded a serial to coms port driver and when I go into device manger it seems the SysOnchip gets loaded to coms port5 but it is not recognised by either a viewer or mapping software.

I know this is a pocket forum but has anyone tried this route in a laptop?

Regards
Mose

It's almost certain you will not get this to work. The USB card readers only usually work for memory cards (either flash memory or hard disk type), not any kind of PC Card I/O peripheral.

Thanks for the reply David. I thought I would give it a try. I shall not spend any more time trying to get it to work by this route. I shall ust buy the external antenna.
