Thanks, Darren. I've looked at the forum you indicated and conclude that the problem of software or driver clashes when running multiple GPS applications on one PPC is limited to Bluetooth GPS systems. As I mentioned in my first posting here, I have a CF GPS, so assume that I will have no trouble if I instal Mapopolis alongside TTN3 -Alix seems to imply as much in that thread. One remaining aspect I don't understand and on which I would be grateful for comment please -will I be able to switch to Mapopolis' maps when driving from UK into Ireland using TTN3's 'change maps' function and will TTN3 work with Mapopolis' maps with full voice navigation etc, or will I have to exit TTN3 and open Mapopolis' navigation software before I can use their maps? It would obviously be neater if one could avoid instaling Mapopolis' navigation software if it is not absolutely necessary. Thanks for any further help. Cheers. Tony

With a CF GPS you should not have any problem with the Com Port Locking issue.

As for the maps, you cannot use maps from other applications, there are many reasons for this (the map data is cistomised by each application provider specifically for their application for instance) but it applies across the board, maps from Mapopolis will only work in Mapopolis and vice versa with TomTom and all other apps.

To achieve what you wish you will have to exit TTNav and use the Mapopolis application whilst in Ireland.
