Sorry if most of this has been covered but I am after a bit of advice. I have done a copy of my TT using Windows Explorer. I have read through the 2 threads, well a fair bit of them, around issues with V8.3 but am confused over the best way to go.

I need to update to 8.3 to get the latest maps 8.15 I think but it would appear I could get left with problems. So what is the best thing to do?

Any advice would be great.

Cheers

Sturgi

You have to update the software version in order to get the v815 mapping, this new mapping will only work with Navcore 8,300 or higher.

If it works on your device then leave it alone as not everyone seems to have issues with the map refresh rate and stuttering voices. If you do encounter problems you can back the unit up again using Windows Explorer to save the new software and mapping then re-install the old backup until TomTom manage to create an update to address the situation.

Or read my post on page 28 or the "other" thread which details running Navcore 8,320 with your new map, quite a few people have reported this has cured the problems on their device but doing this does prevent you from using the TomTom Home interface - Mike
