Rikaline 6021-X6 / Dell Axim

I recently bought a Dell Axim X5 / tomtom / Rikaline 6012-X6 combination. I have had a lot of trouble with this. The X6 kept locking up steadily from 20 minutes down to 5 minutes. The supplier gave me a Rikaline program to reset and do a cold start. It improved slightly but still kept locking up. The conclusion was it was faulty so the supplier replaced it. The new one worked ok for a few short trips of about 6-7 miles, but at the weekend during a complicated but short route the new one locked up. I have read elsewhere in the forums about firmware problems but I am assured that mine is the very latest version. I'm not sure if its a problem with the Dell itself or tomtom. I am also using Checkpoint for the speed camera warnings, could this be the cause of the problem, giving the pocket pc too much to do?

My confidence in the product so far is very low. My question is: Is there anyone out there using this product with tomtom successfully? In less than one month i have only managed to get a few routes completed without any lock ups.

Welcome to the forums.

Have you experienced these lockups also when you run other GPS programs? For example Winfast navigator or VisualGPSCE ? (just to make sure it's not the TomTom GPS driver that's to blame)

i have a rikaline cf gps with ipaq 2210 and ttn2, had problems if to many poi`s are enabled, other wise when being given directions only problem is if one turning is within aprox 100 yards of previose turning, then the voice command is sometimes late.

other wise fine
