Is anyone aware of a reg hack or something that will stop TomTom 3 from locking the GPS port? I now have TT3.01 working but my Memory-map and Pretec software can't connect to the GPS anymore?

If it's important: I use IPAQ 4150 + Pretec BT GPS and TomTom 3.01 (updated).

TomTom have sent me the old 2.07 GPS driver which I have not yet tried (I will tonight) but the guy had doubts that it will work with a Bluetooth GPS so I don't have any confidence. He mentioned that there is a reg hack floating around (which TomTom don't support) but said he heard it works and I might want to give it a go if I can find it.

Sorry, just found it, feel like a monkey now!

1. Download a register editor
2. Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\SerialX, were X is the BT com port for your device
3. Click in the "Value Dll" and in the button "edit button". Change the value to "BtCeIf.dll".
4. Close the editor.
5. Do a soft reset to the IPAQ.

Hi,

I’m currently using TT GPS 2.07 with a BT GPS receiver, albeit with TTNav2.24. GPS 2.07 works well with a BT GPS. I’m sure that I’ve read on this forum, somewhere, that people have used older drivers with TTNav3.xx with no problems.

As far as the registry hack is concerned, I though that it was only for the 22xx iPAQs. I’m afraid that I don’t know the 4150 so I may be wrong.

Regards,
