Hi
I already have a garmi legend with a re-radiation antenna. I find the antenna doesn't work too good and is clumsy when walking...
I would like to buy a better GPS for my needs: walking/camping/fishing/hinting under heavy cover trees and quite often cloudy sky and rain.

what make/model will stand apart here?
I would seddle for an unit with just an antenna, not a re-radiating antenna with its own amplifier, if the antenna you suggest does make the difference. I absoulutely hate the one I have now but if an exta antenna is mandatory for better rececption in the wood, then what' the best one? one that works and is small/simple.
or course I would prefert just a GPS with no antenna if there is a pearl out there....

the GPS doesn't have to be multi functionnal, but just plain old powerfull and reliable.

any help is appreciated.

TIA

Stef, Montreal.

Ok i know this is an oooooolllllld post, but i would just like to mention that yesterday i travelled from Dunstable (bedfordshire) in a really bad storm to wellingborough.
The sat nav i was using was a Mio 168 running TT5, i had an antenna with me just in case i needed it because of the dense cloud cover all the way, but i dident need to attach it at all, i just used the flip up receiver which stayed at full signal all the way there and back.

This is a great little tool, it is a pda, but i only use it as a satnav device.
