not too sure IF i can put up with my Garmin Nuvi 765T keep re-setting itself

can i have any Experts Opinions on going from the above model to a TomTom Go 930T ?

was going to swap my Garmin for this on Monday lunchtime at my local Halfords, exchanging my Faulty Garmin for it.........foolish do you think?

if it didnt re-boot itself i would love to keep it! been most impressed with it over the weekend, just a shame with this problem keep re-occuring

Just replied in your other thread on this subject, bad form to post the same subject twice ya know Wink

I'd look at a 720/730 unless you need the US maps?

The units are supplied with different mapping, the 730 has Western Europe installed on to 2GB of internal flash memory.
The 930 has Western &Central Europe AND North American mapping installed to its 4GB of internal flash memory. The 930 also has a gyro built in for working out position while in tunnels etc, and it was supplied with a remote control - Mike

If you are planning a trip to the USA soon then the 930 would be a logical choice, otherwise a 730 with a USA map installed to it prior to your trip might be a better a solution - slightly more costly but you will have the benefit of more up to date mapping and spreading the cost of purchase - the gyro isn't much use in the UK IMHO as there are very few tunnels to use it in - Mike

I'm just about to do the exact opposite, replace my 930T with a Nuvi 765T !
Although since reading here I'm not sure if I'll be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire or not... Is the 765T also bad for firmware updates?
My 930T is currently very stable (left firmware at 8.010 after reading the probs with 8.3) but I would like the newer quarterly map updates which I can only get with the crappy/stuttery 8.3 navcore - I'm tired of TT releasing buggy firmware and paying them for updates that make my device worse.

I also want the multidrop routing that the Nuvi offers.

I agree

I moved from the TT to garmin for exactly the same reason.

The 765T I have is fine.

no issues at all

I liked the look of the 860T for the voice control but discovered it lacks lane assistance (which I quite like on my TomTom) - it's a toss up between the 765T (£242.99) and the 865T (£330)
Looking at used 930T on eBay, it looks like I should be able to get ~£240/£250 back on it.
