I have a Mio168 as well. The GPS in these is a SiRF II, and not the most sensitive at that. An upgrade to a more recent SiRFIII or equivilent GPS would almost certainly solve the problem.
I was playing in the weekend with mine, one Cold start took 370 seconds TTFF, -out in the open with clear blue skies and 8 birds in view. It typically takes about 60 for a cold start.
You did not say if this is a new problem, or if you have always had it.
Cant say I experienced the same problems with my 168, i did find that a High speed card helps considerably and moviving upto 6.20/6.30 helps, also my Asus a696 with sirf3 takes considerably longer for a fix than the mio, also runs ttn6 slower using a SDHC card but faster using a standard high speed SD card, although faster processor, so i would think carefully before spending money upgrading. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8
