I want to create POI's for Schools, Pubs, Clubs etc within the Glasgow city area. I have a note of all of the Names and there addresses. Is there any software out there that will allow me to transfer this information using an xls file. i don't have the coordinates for the poi's.

There is a function here http://www.tomtom.com/addto/poi-wizard-enter-addresses.php#p(4) on the TOMTOM website that allows me to addthe info. The only problem i have is that you have to add all the data at the same time - which is impossible as it would take too long. If you transfer the poi you have created using the above method then try and continue later it just overwrites the previous inputs.

I have got quite a bit of data to enter and using the function on the Tomtom 720 would drive me crazy!!

Any help would be appreciated

Do you have a copy of AutoRoute? This will allow you to import a spreadsheet of data - if the postcode is a separate column, then it can use this to place the POIs. You can then re-export the file, and convert it to any standard POI format using a program such as POIEdit.

AR will also work with addresses, but only if it knows of them.

If it can't find an address (or a Postcode), it will hold the unknown locations but won't place them. You then have the opportunity to manually match the location, the details of which are in the Pushpin Properties.
