Hi Guys,

I have received some Txt messages on my TT940, I have deleted them from my phone, but cannot seem to delete them from the TT940.

I think I can do via Windows Explorer, but surely you must be able to do it on the unit?

Any advice welcome,

SDM197.

From the main menu goto
mobile phone, phone preferences, message preferences and alter checkmarks to suit your requirements.

This will I beleive only be good for new messages both sent and received, for old messages they will have to be deleted as described under.

On the other two models I have used that is the original One and the One XL this had to be done under windows explorer by going to the contacts folder and deleting the inbox.txt and outbox.txt files.

I often wondered why there was never an easy way to delete these messages so it was always a job I did when updating the speed camera database.

On my devices (x20) it's
Mobile Phone...
Phone Preferences ...
Delete

then check the boxes for whatever.

Interestingly, I have only recently discovered that messages received/sent on the 720 do NOT show in the in/sent boxes of my phone (Nokia 6230i).

DennisN you are right it is the same on the 940, I had not gone into that menu option as I thought it would be to delete phone from device, but now appreciate that is under manage phones, sorry for the confusion Embarassed Embarassed

My phones don't support SMS text so I would have been posting blind - best leave it to others in those conditions Shocked plus I have been a tad busy with the screwdrivers (wait and see) - Mike

Dennis, I'm not sure that "screwdrivers" qualifies as techno-speak!

Screwdrivers is deffo techno-speak, believe me. You'll probably understand when he publishes (I mean you'll probably understand that it's techno-speak - I have no knowledge of your powers of understanding, although the way you disparage screwdrivering, I guess you must be pretty good at techno).

Having said which, when I bought a can of paint (for somebody else to put on my doors), I noticed B&Q were selling paint can openers and even I could see they were nothing but screwdrivers (I've got one which I used to use to open paint cans back in the days before I retired from Doingitmyself).
