That is weird!! The timings suggest I posted long after Darren above, but it wasn't there when I posted. Anyway, just wanted to say, I was just looking around and saw the Ebay page, initially tried looking on Ebay in Holland for a Traffic Receiver.

I very much doubt that will fully work in the UK, the maps and navigation part will be fine but the HD part will only work in the country the SIM card is intended to be used within - most probably Holland - Mike

Mike's correct, the ONE XL HD is available in Holland only and the HD Service will operate in that country only.

TomTom have made no public pronouncements on this but my information is sound and we're not the only website stating this, GPSPassion were at the same TomTom meeting and have made the same statement.

However whilst I sympathise with anyone who bought an x30 on the back of the future availability of the HD Accessory, I think you'll have a hard time demanding money back if/when they confirm it won't be coming. I wish you luck!

My belief has always been that the HD bit refered to the method of collection and analysis of the traffic data and that this was irrelevant to the method of delivery.

I used Traffic in Holland last year and it seemed to be very accurate, routing me round Rotterdam through the suburbs without delay.

I found the Traffic data on a trip down to London last week better than previousl experiences but still not good. Are we acutally getting the Vodafone data or not?

If there is an error, my 720 pops up a message including the words HD Traffic.

The old system should have worked but seems to be like treacle when in action, showing queues where there are none and not when you are sat in one.

The seems to be a trick missing here. When my TomTom connects to the server why does it not add to where I am (surely it must need that to figure what traffic data I need) my speed, as 0 - 10, 10 - 20, 20 - 30, 30 - 40, 40 - 50 and over 50. this would cover most traffic situations and be real time.

Whilst they might have stock they don't state the country of origin - the HD Receiver as depicted by the pictures will only work in Holland - it is useless in the UK - so save your cash - Mike

Well my traffic subscription runs out in 2 days and I'm reluctant to renew it (except for the entertainment value of seeing if the incident actually exists). I considered investing in one of these but I can't so I won't.

So will I be suckered into buying GPRS traffic again .......because I can.

Gadgets are like drugs. You know you shouldn't etc etc. Wish I'd never met that bloke at a party who offered me the trial subscription. "go on....it won't hurt you my friend......" And I'll get that depressed guilty feeling after buying it. I bet I'm not alone here!

I 100% echo your sentiments, my Traffic subscription also runs out together with Speed Cams, think I will give PGPSW a go.

It makes you wonder at what point will the proverbial penny drop at TomTom HQ and they realise that subscriptions from users must be going down, could it be that ITV Live Traffic gives a more detailed and up to date view of road conditions than TT Route Planner/HD Traffic.

Sorry to go on but as a TT 930 owner I still feel cheated, the x30 range does not even appear on the original products list on the TT web site Evil or Very Mad

Well although the quandry over re-subscribing to traffic continues I would say without hesitation that the PGPSW speed cam database wipes the floor with Tom Tom's own. So at least we've knocked a fiver off what they'll prise out of our pockets! :-)

TomTom have behaved appallingly over this issue, refusing to confirm or deny that they will eventually release the HD accessory.
They have also (in my support call) denied that they ever said the HD accessory would be made available for the x30 range.
