Hi folks,

I just bought a TomTom ONE v4 yesterday with the traffic aerial option.

I am quite new to using TomTom's way of updating via co,puter, so I was wondering if there was a comprehensive guide to using this?

I have already downloaded TomTom HOME - note it's for Mac OS X.

One thing I tried to do, just as a 'practise', was to download T-Mobile HotSpots as POIs.

I downloaded the files okay, but when I tried to install them it came up with the following message:

Sorry about the size of the screen grabs - the next size down was unreadable.

Why is it saying I need to have a map installed?

You should update the version of TomTom Home software you are using, the latest is 2,4,0,104 for PC, I am not too sure which is the mac version though. The 2,4 I have on the PC looks and behaves differently to your screen captures which are far larger than the max size the forum accepts, shrink them down to 400 pixels wide if they are really needed - Mike

Can I suggest you look at the POIs from this site - they're often a lot better than the ones supplied by/through TomTom Home.

But even more importantly, make sure you do a full back-up of your TomTom before you start to make any changes to it. Do this using Windows Explorer; don't rely on the TT Home back-up facility.
