I have got a Go910 and my new car has a Shark Fin on the roof, which according to the manual as a GPS aerial built-in, one of the cars options when I purchased it was a built-in Sat Nav, which I did not have. There is obviously a aerial connection behind the dash incase it was fitted, and what I want to know is: can this aerial lead be connected to the Windscreen docking unit and if so, do I plug it into the external aerial socket or the RDS-TMC socket and would it be worth it.

I have got the TomTom RDS-TMC unit and the Tom Tom external aerial but it is worsr that useless.

Regards
Terry Birch

The x10 mount has a specific connection for external GPS which is the connector to the left of the power socket as you look at the mount from the side. I wouldn't have thought the 910 would see much of a signal improvement for positional accuacy unless the car has an Athermic (Heat Reflective) windscreen.

You could also consider connecting the RDS-TMC aerial to the cars FM aerial, as this is known to offer significant improvement to signal reception - Mike
