I have a 730 which was purchased in late July 2008 (App 8.010; Map: N_A_ 805.1801). I see there is now an update to this map (810).

Is there a way to preview online a new map release? For sure one wants to know if there are enough additions near and dear to one's neighbourhood or travel area to justify the expense.

Since my purchase of this 730 I have made many changes that I have submitted via mapshare. Is it the case that in moving up to a new map one loses such changes made on the previous map Mad .

Is there any talk about a new App version corresponding to the release of the 810 maps?

Welcome to the forum, any mapshare changes you have made should migrate automatically to the new map mine did.

There is no online way of really checking what is in the new map, however if you post up the coordinates of a few areas where you are currently fnding the map wrong someone with the new maps can check the area and post up screen shots from the device on to the web site.

The new maps weren't even announced they just appeared on the server last Thursday morning, as for any news/ talk about a new application we will have to wait and see, currently there is no news on anything including the maps - Mike

That's new... Never seen (or heard of) that happen before.

I'd call that a VERY significant improvement to MapShare, can anyone else confirm?

Any way you can tell if it is only your own corrections or also ones supplied by others?

Thanks for the welcome mike.

I bet this is obvious but why doesnt TT make on line available their latest maps....in some sort of preview form?

Not many other things do we purchase w/o being able to see what we are purchasing? Rolling Eyes

Given that I have the immediately previous NA maps (805) likely there isnt enough 'bang for the buck' to justify the update to 810...in terms of the basics ie new streets and such.

However possibly updates re IQ routing might be worth it? Confused

Andy, on the previous map loaded to my 930 I made a number of changes to local road speeds which used to show up with the wrong value, these are now correct on the v810 map running on my 720 but the map loaded to my 930 still shows the wrong locations for the speed change so something from the old mapshare changes I performed on the unit is still getting through on the new map - I rechecked this on the way to Manchester earlier as I thought I was wrong the first time I observed this - Mike

But mightn't that be just that the speeds have been corrected in the core data on the v8.10 map, unless I'm reading your post wrong?

As I read it, you made the corrections on the 930 but have added the new map to the 920?
