I want to go bluetooth with my GPS, but want it to do the following:

1. replaceable battery (as tomtom not)

2. Able to work in a pocket or glove box, so I can use round city without holding the GPS outside with the Ipaq

There are lots on ebay, some mention this new Sirf & Extrac 2 Modes? also other with Sirf 3??

or this one looks good ...

I bought one of the latter ones a few weeks ago, after mine was nicked out of the car, along with PDA, cables and every thing else Crying or Very sad
I have absolutely no complaints, except that I paid a bit more for it.
It works fine from the glove box, never seems to need charging (not strictly true, but it lasts all day) Recommended!

used the same one myself for about 6 months now with a smartphone and a pda. I have no problems either (apart from a few tweeks that would apply to a lot of units). Battery life is excellent but gives no warning its about to go (but i suppose most or all are like that) Takes a nokia battery so a spare will be cheap as chips to get and also noticed that it works without the battery in as long as plugged in the cig lighter.

I got it working all ok now... But it really does lack info on what you can do with it, the program etc...

What does the program you get with it actually do?, does it program the unit or is this not needed?

Also what about setting it up for better GPS and lower power use????

Do you actually need to program it to 3800 baud etc, or is this not even needed on your Pocket PC to run it???

Which Nokia Battery does it take???

What about SIRF??

I'm about to buy one of these units (bt-77's).

I'm interested to hear it will work with no battery when plugged into the car charger.

I take it I could therefore leave it plugged in all the time (infact I'd take the cig plug apart and hardwire it in so I have no cables running around everywhere)...?
