Hi there,

After considerable thought and investigation, I have decided to purchase a TomTom 530.

I do have a couple of questions which I can't find answers to:-

0 - Could anyone tell me whether the volume from this unit is adeqaute for a noisy car.
If it is considered not to have much volume, is there an audio output socket which could be used to amplify it in the dash-board holder? (Similar to the active Brodit mount I had for my PDA?)

0 - My Navigator 5 sofware had the facility to change the background of the display blue after it passed a certain mph ... does that facility exist on the 530 please?

0- My Ford Focus has a heated windscreen ... will the wiring matrix in the windscreen create a problem with the GPS getting satellite fixes?
Will I need an external aerial? ....
... is there a facility for one on the 530?

Any advice would be welcome before I take the final plunge.

regards

More than adequate for a car.

The 530's speed display will turn red when you exceed the limit (where the limits are known) and will then flash red when you exceed that limit by more than 5mph.
You can also assign an audio alert when the posted speed is exceeded if you wish.

No

Yes but it's highly unlikely you will need to utilise it.
