I guess people who use their device every day don't need GPSQuickFix, but I'm trying to use my free bus pass instead of taking the car whenever possible ( ), so haven't used my 720 for a week.
When I was checking something on the device before posting a reply on the forums today I noticed it still hadn't got a fix five minutes after turning it on, so I downloaded the latest GPSQuickFix and got a fix straight away.
So I think it does have its uses for those who use their satnav infrequently. _________________ Anita

Yes, but I use mine at least once a day and always turn it on and off in the same place.

Anita, I noticed the same yesterday when booting up my 930 for the first time in probably a couple of weeks. After 2 1/2 minutes it still had no satlock. Don't know when it finally did as I got tired of waiting and didn't look for another few minutes. I was a bit surprised that it took so long without quickfix data. Would have thought perhaps a minute or so. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

To be fair I was at the pc in the very middle of the house! I've always got a lock pretty quickly in the car. _________________ Anita
