Hello all,
I have had my 6630 for several years now.
It has took me everywhere.
USA, Scandinavia, and most of France, Spain, Italy, etc.
Now I have got a N95.

I hope it will be as good.

Which version of Tomtom should I be looking for.
Which is the best/latest UK maps available.

You can now only buy TTN6. The maps for this are now well out of date - TT are now using version 7 maps, but they cannot be used with TTN6!

they may be bringing out TTN7 soon, with newer maps, but don't bank on it.

As I understand it TT cannot use the internal GPS in the N95, so you will still need a separate BT receiver, but I am sure others can confirm that.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for the reply.
I don't quite understand though. I have a GPS receiver that I use with my 6630.

So I need the TT6 ?

Your existing BT GPS will work fine with the new toy, but there is AFAIK a work around third party application you can load to the n95 tht will let TomTom use the built GPS receiver thus reducing the number of devices you need to cart around, try a search for ''TomTom AND n95'' (without the ''') - Mike

Graham

you can buy TT6 software and maps with or without TT's own BT sat nav receiver. As Mike says you can use your existing receiver so buy without if you want TT6. It is just that TT can't access and use the GPS receiver that is built into the N95, at least not without the 3rd party work around Mike mentioned.

What software were you using before? You may find that you can install that on the N95, but maps will be even more out of date.

Hi Mike, Peter,
Thanks for the info.
The 6630 just linked up with the BT77 very easily through bluetooth.
Im'e not to bothered about using the GPS in the N95, as I will quite happily use the BT77, and as before, just bluetooth to the N95.
It looks like I need to search my source's for the TT6 program, then some corrisponding TT6 maps.
Is there just one version of TT6 maps out there available, as (I seem to remember there were several versions of version 5, which I used from time to time, as version 5 updates became available.
First was map 419, then followed by 605.)
