Garmin has added a few vehicles to its Garage, turning it into a hanger...
The best is the Supermarine Spitfire, even if I would have preferred the P-51 Mustang which was shown during the contest...

Unfortunate thread title. New marketing ploy for growing market share of Garmins in Germany, maybe? _________________ Dennis

Well, the P-51 was the only plane of the era that was as fast unwaxed as it was waxed...
But the A-51 was a so-so plane until they put Merlin engines on it, then it became a legend...
The Spit has displaced the tank as pointer on my Nuvi. |

A-10 Thunderbolt aka Warthog..... Engines are positioned for protection from heat seeking SAMs. So well engineered but so ugly - i love 'em. |

Still is.
Cannot fire the 30mm gun for more than a few seconds, for fear of stalling. |

(cough) Myth! (cough)
GAU-8/A Spec
The recoil force is roughly half the output of the engines. Enough to slow the plane but not the stall it...
Initial designs did allow the gun exhaust to enter the engines and on one occasion did cause an engine to stall. Now the exhaust goes under the plane. |
