You didnt get an answer in 20 minutes with Garmin Try 2 months with TomTom if ever.
People do get used to the unit they use and changing makes is the hardest . I did it over 3 years ago changed from TomTom to Garmin and yes it was painful . TomToms GUI is better than Garmins ,but, all in all I prefer my Garmin now . I have done over 75000 miles using it and its only let me down twice in that time.
Each to their own but dont give up at the first hurdle. Persist with your new unit and see if you get used to it . _________________ Asus Zenfone 2 twin sim, Garmin Zumo 550, 660 and pocketgps speed camera database
I keep on learning but they invent new things faster ,How do I keep up ?
HI tomthompson,
yep I have always been Garmin through and through, but I went to Halfords and compared the Tom Tom 940 and Nuvi 765t side by side. I totally ignored the sales patter, which was bias towards Tom Tom, but the Garmin froze 3 times and the ALG on Tom Tom appeared to be just as good, if not better than Garmins, so I have taken the plunge and bought a 940. I personally prefer Garmins uncluttered interface, and known from past playing around / maintenance with Tom Tom that this is going to be a steep learning curve I truly hope I have not made a big mistake, I hope.
Like you say its what your used to, : and I note your comment about Tom Toms non-existent Customer Service and I accept that there will be no help from Tom Tom if I get stuck, that's why this forum is soooo gooood
