ONE 3rd edition favourite problems

I have a Tom Tom ONE 3rd Edition. I have filled the favourites and read here about moving them to a custom POI file instead. Ive tried to do this but the option to add a poi is not available in the browse map options. now i had v7 software on my device, but just upgraded to v8 via home as instructed only to find thet it screws up my custom menu and the irtinery option no longer works, so tomtom kindly explained how to get back to v7 again. But now my favourites dont work, i can see the info is in the mapsettings.cfg file, but the favourites icon doesnt light up on the tomtom now.

anyone have a way to recover my favourites and move them to a custom POI file?

Use POIEdit to open the MapSettings.cfg file which located in your Map folder, you can download the POIEdit application from This link - Mike
