tomtom go 520 help

purchased a tomtom a few months ago from e buyer but have only just got round to using it on a long trip which involves going past speed cameras but why are any cameras not recognised on my tomtom - the other strange thing is that the sd card included in my 520 is actually just a piece of plastic with no chip so basically a blank - should of i received a working sd card with the unit.
i connected to tomtom home when i first bought the unit but did not update as far as i am aware.

Have you turned the speed cameras on or installed the PGPS database and activated them. they are not on by default

The 520 is not supplied with a SD card, it has internal memory. The card slot is for your own card and is blanked off to keep dust out.
