mio 168 map update

Ive had my trusty mio 168 for 3 years now and the maps are becoming abit out of date so im looking to get new mapping software but theres that many out there i would be greatful if you could suggest which would be best for me. im currently running medion navigator 4.4 which i find very easy to use and ease of use is the main thing im after really. can the mio use most of the map software like tom tom and garmin?
