Hey guys.
After having a crap journey without a sat nav a few days ago, I've decided to get another sat nav. I want to spend about £100 on one, and have chosen the aforementioned sat navs, and wondered what your opinions are of them?
Are there any better, more acurate, more reliable sat navs out there for £100??
Any replies would be much appreciated Smile

Either of the 200W or 300 would be OK but personally in that sort of price range I would go for a Nuvi 250. My step daughter has a 270 (same as 250 but with additional USA mapping) and thinks it is wonderful.

Thanks for the reply mate.
Are there any noticeable differences between any of the 200, 250 or 300 units??

The 300 has an MP3 player and you can attach a traffic receiver module. The 300 has a flip up antenna; the 200 series have an internal antenna. There are minor differences in the user interface but nothing of great significance.

Apparently the traffic receiver module doesn't work. Is there any truth to this??

Does work in what way? It isn't compatible or the Traffic doesn't work?

The Traffic function on those Sat Navs that can work with the receivers DO work but the signal in the UK is weak so you often come across dead spots. As far as i can see promised improvements have failed to materialise. Secondly the information isn't always as up to date as it could be. Sometimes jams are reported late and sometimes jams are still shown when they have cleared. I would have a read through the TMC Forum here and see what others have to say. Personally i have it and only use it on long trips. I find it hit and miss. I would always put it near the bottom of the list of "haves" - for now at least anyway.

Hi Christiani

I bought a 300T two weeks ago and found that the traffic does work.

Tonight I left Bearstead in Kent at 17.20 my route would have been M20 to M25 then A2 arrive home at 18.00. The traffic showed a delay on the M25, the radio said 30-40 minutes, I entered "avoid" in the sat nav and it took me up Bluebell Hill then onto the M2 then A2 and I still arrived home at 18.00 and there are 4miles of road woks on the A2 with a 50mph speed limit.

So I are very pleased with the 300T and it cost me under £100.

Hope this helps.

Alan
