Hi guys

Hope you can help me out. Lost my TomTom but managed to get an ex display no accessories model from Halfords for £40 Smile

However no sd card so no software, maps etc.

I have TT Home on my desktop pc backed up (about two weeks ago)

Can I simply restore these onto a SD card and put it in my new TT One v2?

Cheers

It shouldn't work on anything but your previous device.

Only chance might be if you change the device number in your TomTom account and can get that into Home, you might be able to bring it back to life via Home.

Otherwise, you've got a £40 paperweight until/if TomTom will help you out.

One thing with TT - good would be a receipt to prove you DO own it, even better would be some sort of document from Halfords to prove they sold it to you with nothing going - I find it difficult to understand how they could have a display model which didn't work?

I think if you get the firmware running (I mean the TomTom software) then you should be able to connect the software via home and buy a map for the device.

Instead of an old backup I would rathe start by downloading genuine software from TomTom webpage, copy the files to the device and see what develops.

If TomTom boots fine but says no map on the device, then you should get the thing going I guess.

Hi guys

I found a backup of my sd card itself on the pc last night. Copied it to a spare SD card and inserted it and it worked fine.

BTW the Tomtom I bought from Halfords without the SD card did turn on when I plugged in my car charger so I guess it's the full software version?
