When I connect my 760 to the pc everything I do seems to work fine until I want to disconnect. I have been right clicking and then clicking eject. At first that seemed to work and the nuvi icon disappeared and the 760 disconnected from the computer. Now the computer says programme not responding and I end up having to turn off the computer at the switch. I am not having any problems operating then 760 but presumably shouldn't have to turn off the pc to disconnect it. Any comments?

Hi there Colossus

Normally when I connect my Nuvi 670 to the pc I just disconnect the usb cable from the sat nav which seems to work fine. I know that you do this for the cruzer pen drives.

I have had my 670 since May last year and this is the way that I have always done. Hope this helps

Jerry

Thanks. Just read in the instructions that you had to click some eject icon that I couldn't find anyway. The only reference to eject was when I right click and at first that seemed to work. Doesn't seem to do any harm to just take the cable out but was worrying that at some point it will.

If using a PC, the icon is in your system tray, lower right corner. Icon differs depending on operation system. YES, safely disconnect the nuvi by using the Safe Removal icon option.

I no longer have the icon in my system tray - it just disappeared! So I now right-click the drive in My Computer and Eject, or Disconnect Device if using Home.

This is what I have been trying to do but the computer freezes when I click "eject" and I then have to turn it off at the switch
