Hello . Picked a Via michelin X960 New edition cheap from Maplins yesterday. Seems to work quite well. I have a few concerns which some kind person may help with please.

(1) when synchronising do I use guest or the first option?

(2) My laptop cant connect to it, the device keeps showing icon of device and sd card with a red cross.

(3) How do you get it connected and download updated cameras and poi's

Or bearing in mind the news I have just seen about Michelin not continuing. Take it back?
Thanks

You do NOT sign on as 'guest'.

You'll find a number of posts in these threads about communication difficulties, some simple. One point - the device and the red cross icon does not of itself mean you're not connected, it means 'do not disconnect device'; you might have to fire up Content Manager as it doesn't always come up automatically.

Can't really tell your situation without knowing what your environment is and what steps you have gone through with the installation process (and were there any apparent problems?). You may find the detailed User Manual useful if you haven't seen it yet - you can download it from the VM site.

But if you are having genuins difficulties, it would probably be best to return it as I'm not sure how the VM support will hold up in the coming months.

Thanks if I don't sign on as guest are there any of the check boxes to tick after telling it I only want to synch one pc.

There didn't seem to be any installation problems with the dvd.

Also I did manage to activate the unit. But it's a bit confusing trying to find the product code?
