Hi
While installing POIs to my wife's i3 (something I've done this many times before without incident) it all went wrong and the unit is trashed - I've tried everything suggested on the Garmin forums of this site but none of the suggested fixes have worked.

So, I am reluctantly forced to share my TomTom One v2. However I don't want to buy another power adapter if I can help it, so was wondering if I can use the i3 cigarette lighter power cord to run the TT in her car without killing the TT as well !!!
TIA
Colin.

The mini USB connector is a standard fit with a common voltage of 5V so it will work fine, the only problem you might have is getting the connector to make contact with the device correctly. The Garmin plug is right angled IIRC and this prevents the connector from going fully into the socket.

Have you tried a full reset on the i3, hold the wheel down and the two buttons at the same time, when it asks about resetting the device answer "yes" - Mike

Hi Mike
Thanks for this. I thought they looked pretty much the same but was concerned about the voltage / current.

Yes, I tried the reset and deleting the POI file (I'm pretty sure this is the damaged one) but can't delete it using the PC (it says it is write protected and/or read only and I can't change the attributes). Even with the newest POI Loader I get the same result. Now, I can't get either of my PCs to find the i3 now so I'm at a loss to think of how I can sort it short of copying everything (minus the POI file) to another card and I'm not really sure that will work and, as I can't delete the files from the original card, I assume that the situation with the new card would be the same because I'd be stuck with the unwanted files on the new card ..... any other suggestions welcomed, but I'm beginning to feel pretty much resigned to junking the i3 which is a shame as my wife really likes it. I assume Garmin wouldn't want to know as it's out of warranty and in any case (as far as they would be concerned) it is "user error"!
TIA
Colin.
