Whatever happened to TomTom's takeover bid for Tele Atlas?
It all seems to have gone awfully quiet.

Last I heard they were in negotiations with the EU. Reportedly, TT will need to sell the archived map database to a 3rd supplier, as well as offer support for the map, essentially setting up a competing 3rd map supplier. They hope this satisfies the EU's concern on lack of competition.

It's still forging ahead but has to await the outcome of an EU Objection. This is not expected to stop the purchase, merely delay it as reported here.

Nokia's bid for Navteq is also being investigate.
