Is it something as simple as you having to re-enable them in the Preferences?

Either go to: Change preferences/Show POI on map/ and re-select them all
or to Browse Map/Options/Tick the 'Points of interest' box/ then tap 'POI' and re-select them all.

If you have them ONLY selected to 'warn when near' they don't appear on "Browse map" and they only appear on the navigation display at the moment they start to warn.

Also, I think, if you have no route planned and the 'warn on route' is checked, they won't show either.
