I have a similar problem near Reading. If you come off M4 at J11 towards Reading (say train station) on A33 (main dual carriage way. CP7 (also CP6 previously) asks you to bear right at next junction ( should have been straight). If you ignor it and go straight, it will ask you to take first exit at 2nd roundabout to go into Reading football stadium. If you ignor again and carry on straight, it will ask you to take first exit at next roundabout and U-turn back to the roundabout then take first exit. after than it becomes normal again. |

| Having tried Copilot 6 last year and faced a number of routing problems, then read here of similar problems with Copilot 7, I think I'll stick with TomTom. Just wish they'd hurry up with Navigator 7. |

I get the same problem on two roundabouts that have filter left lanes near where I live. I reported both of the examples to ALK and I have just received this reply:
Thank you for contacting CoPilot Technical Support.
We have notice a slight inconsistence withe filter left lane on rounds and we are currently looking in to this, we hope to have a resolutions for this soon, thanks you very much for bringing this to our attention. |

you cld very well be waitying a very long time fo that
cp7 is an improvment yes there are some problems anything like this i would urge to conact ALK support but befre doing this try to recreate the route is possible
so far ive done since last year about 38k miles useing copilot 7 yes its not perfect but its always got me to where im going

I've also just discovered the delights of Copilot 7's rather strange routings... Try this if you get a moment on PC or on a PPC .:-
Plan a "shortest" route from Clyst Honiton, GB to Heavitree, GB.... a nice little detour off the roundabout round an industrial estate and back onto the roundabout at the same exit!
I'm really hoping that they will sort this out soon as I've just switched from TT6 as my maps were so old. or have I just wasted my money?

Using 'quickest' and 'default profile', I plotted a route from RG146JT to SN101JL (Newbury to Devizes). CPL7 sent me via the A34 south to the A303 west and then A342 - 51.1 miles 1:10 hrs.
I added a stop in Marlborough (SN8 4) and it took me on the A34 north to M4 J13, off at J14 to the A4 and then A361 - 47.3 miles 1:02 hrs. Since I specified 'quickest', why didn't it suggest that route in the first place? Especially since it's shorter too!
That still didn't look like the best route, so I added a stop at Halfway (RG20 8) on the A4 between Newbury and Hungerford. CPL7 then came up with the route I have used many times - A4 and A361. That came out at 35 miles, 1 hr - quicker AND shorter still! CPL7 originally wanted me to drive almost 50% more miles and take 10 minutes longer than necessary.
I have a series of screenshots to demonstrate the above.
TT Nav 6 sends me via the last of those routes and claims the journey is 37.1 miles in 1:03 hrs.
There were many similar examples, including routes to/from my house via nearby roads by using neighbouring gardens! There is no direct access from my road to those other roads, not even pedestrian access, and my road and house have been here unchanged since the 1930s, the other roads for at least 10 years. TT always routes me correctly via the only entrance to my road.
I reported this to ALK support four weeks ago but have only received a holding reply so far.
Unless ALK can come up with a very good explanation and/or fix, then, as far as I am concerned, CPL7 is a non-starter. TT is, of course, far from perfect, but for me it has proven vastly superior in its routing. Couple that with POI (speed camera) handling and, if there is to be no TT Nav 7, I'll switch to a dedicated TomTom in due course rather than go back to CPL7, despite my objections to TT's licensing and activation practices. |

Wow, that's completely broken and for no apparent reason too.
Not surprising really since CoPilot has suffered from strange routing for years. It sounds like they still haven't fixed it.

| Rather disapointing that Version 7.7.0.134 still does the silly routing for me on the two roundabouts near where I live. |
