What software could be use to edit the .prm file?

You cannot edit the map data file, all you can do is report errors to the map provider and hope they are put right before the next map release - Mike

i am located in china and the map shows chinese characters on graphics which my phone cannot read. all that appears are small squares which is suppose to be chinese letters.

i want to remove those and maybe change some of them in english letters.

there seems to be no china map in english yet.
