|
|
Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help with my dad's TT510. He is an infrequent user and after the device has laid dormant for a month or so, it now refuses to get a GPS fix. I know it can take a while if not used for some time, but it has been outside for as long as 4 hours without getting a fix. I've also tried the TomTom Quick fix update, but this hasn't helped at all. Its almost like the GPS unit has stopped working.
Any ideas or is the unit destined for scrap?

I left it outside for a good hour displaying this screen and it did not once register even a single satelite. This was after I had installed the quick fix which should have made it easier to locate satelites..... |

Make a Backup Copy of the .cfg File, in the Map Folder, saving it to your PC.
Then on the last page of Change Preferences select Reset factory settings.
It may not work, but it's worth a try.
If it does, Restore the .cfg to the Map Folder. Again see if it still works. _________________ Richard

I'd try reset, take the card out, wipe it, and put in the open. Usually works for me. |
