HP Ipaq rx5900 series Travel Companion with Tomtom Nav.6

I am the owner of this PDA which has been performing excellently until now. At the moment I am unable to make connection with the Internet through my Desktop PC. I am connected to the Internet with Broadband and my ISP is NTLWORLD.COM. Connection from the PDA to the PC is by USB. There is no problem with this connection but the Internet is staying hidden. As I also have Worldmate on the PDA it is imperative that I am able to download their data.

I would appreciate any suggestions with regard to setting up connections with IP Addresses etc. and ways of testing these.
