I have a new edition 960, and my friend has an older 960, now in April I am going to France, and I was hoping to borrow his SD card of Europe to use on the trip, will it work?
Thanks... |

I'm pretty sure it wont. The maps on the SD card are locked to a specific PND.
The only way you will be able to use his Europe maps is to borrow his 960 ( and presumably lend him yours ) for your trip. |

Oh dear... ! I just bought my 960 from Maplins, thinking I could use his card, I think I'll have to return and buy something else with EU on.
Thanks |

The earlier reply was correct... From the instruction manual:
The SD card can only be used on a single ViaMichelin portable GPS device. When you insert the SD card for the first time on a PND, a digital fingerprint associated within the mapping will determine that this SD card has been installed on this device. It cannot therefore be used on another PND unless it is reformatted. |
