Hi
I have just bought a Nuvi 200. I also have a street pilot series and have updated this many times using the POI Loader. I am trying to do the same with my new Nuvi, however when I plug it in it does not launch the Poi Loader and if I do this manualy it says it cannot find a gps connected.
Can anyone help? |

What cable are you using? With my 660 I have several 'cheapo' USB cables that give the same effect you are seeing. My GARMIN supplied cable (came with 660) works fine - as do a few other USB cables I have.
When you plug the nuvi into your PC it should revert to the start-up splash screen and show a computer icon towards the middle lower edge of the screen. Your PC (as stated above) should then see the nuvi as a drive (or two if you have an SD slot).
Also I don't believe POILoader will auto-load - at least it doesn't with my 660 - but that could be due to my PC - it's got a lot of things attached and it just may not be configured correctly. _________________ Phil |

Hi
I am using the cable that came with my old garmin. I am seeing the computer icon and can see the drives/folders on the nuvi, however I cannot get the poi loader to see the nuvi, it just says that no GPS is connected.

I do it all from a sd card, Just make a Garmin folder, and have the Poi loader point to it. when the card is put into the nuvi it will ask you if you want to transfer it to the nuvi's memory! |

Hi
Many Thanks for the help.
It turned out to be the cable as you said. I thought I was using the Garmin one, however it turned out to be a cheap one.
I found my Garmin one and it now works fine.
