Just got my drivesmart out of the garage and signed up on this website for the database upgrades
After unpacking the zip file I find the 2 csv files... I guess that I only need to use 1 for the Main database - is this right?
or do i need both?
Please help - I will bevery gratefull to get the ds working again!
Thanks

You should have a pocketgps_uk_sc.csv file and a pocketgps_uk_masters_and_pmobile.csv file.
Both files contain our master database of all verified camera sites of all types. The latter differs in also containing pmobiles.
pmobiles are mobile camera sites that have been reported but not verified, either by multiple independent reports orby a member of our verification team.
We supply both files so that you can decide which you wish to use. Some prefer to have the pmobiles knowing that they may get some false warnings whereas others prefer to use the master database alone. _________________ Darren Griffin

We update at least once per month but on average we publish two updates per month.
Another release is imminent. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi , i have just subscribed too. Nice to get the drivesmart back in use, i have also got a garmin nuvi and used that for a while for speed camera advice but the drivesmart does give more urgent warnings! Even if it is in the terrible voice!
I am pleased to say the DB is uptodate, knows about the Specs on the M18 roadworks that are recent.
i am sure i did not download the mobile DB but i am getting lots of mobile warnings? Will investigate now i know how to use this system.
Does the DB have red light camera warnings? This was a very useful element of drivesmart, for example as a visitor to Edinburgh i was glad to have the warnings as they seem to have dozens. Not that i want to jump red lights but i can take extra care at unknown junctions that are extra dangerous. (i prefer to take the positive view that these things ARE there for road safety not revenue collection!!!! , not sure about my last £60 tho)
Any thanks to everyone who made it possible to resurrect the DS. |

Sorry i meant to say AND thanks .... not ANY.
Also i have re-read the post and i see the mobile DB is about unverified mobiles, i guess i am getting confirmed reports in my DB. |

Welcome aboard

It does. I'm not personally a fan of these being included but as many now have a dual red-light/speed enforcement role now we chose to leave them in.

That's correct. Both databases contain the verified camera sites which includes mobile. The pMobile version also adds the unverified mobiles to the mix. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have found the red light warning very useful in Leeds, there is a very bad junction (sheepscar) were traffic travels much too fast and so cameras have been installed. One camera is around a bend and 30 is the limit, traffic flow is nearer 40 so it reminds me to slow down for this tricky set of lights. It would be easy to get T-boned here. |
