Deleting Garmin's POIs - Nuvi 250w.

I have just bought a Nuvi 250w and am, generally, very pleased with it.

I've already discovered though that Garmin's pre-installed POIs are both out of date and lacking in cover. Is there a simple way to delete these? I can't see a folder where they are stored even with 'Hidden Files' made visible.

Apologies if this in answered elsewhere but a search of the forums didn't come up with anything.

they're inside the map data and the only way to delete them is to delete the maps...!!

Cunning! I'd wanted to free up some storage for other clutter but it looks like I'll be stuck with Garmin's incomplete and out of date data even though it's taken from latest mapping NT2008.

sadly it's something everyone has to live with! to be honest though poi's take up a minimal amount of space...
