Garmin mobile xt

Does anyone know how to get Garmin mobile XT on a Dell X51v to run with a Holux 236.

It rather looks as if it is locked into only being usable with a Garmin BR receiver.

Any ideas please.

That is exactly how it is. Garmin maps are tied to a Garmin GPS Receiver. That is how Garmin circumvents piracy.

Seems a shame Tim.

The software looks pretty good but Im sure it must put people off like myself who already have servicable kit.

My son is using it on a phone with built in GPS so I cant see the point of limiting it on a PDA.

I do actually have two Garmin GPS units, an old GPS 2 and a 60 CSx which work OK hard wired in with other programs.
Silly of Garmin to limit it to their own BT unit.

It is possible to use the in built gps (or indeed any gps unit) with wm5/6, i know as i use it.

As above post, you buy the sd card version (I got mine from expansys) plug it in a volia the internal gps now works. (only problem is 1gb expansion is a bit small)
