No Sound From One

I have updated my Tomtom One (Original) and now it refuses to make a sound, not even the drum roll at startup after removing the card.
I have removed and reinstalled firmware 7 and done long resets but still nothing Does anyone have any pointers?

There have been several reports of the ONE "Original" speaker itself dying.
The most recent was last Wednesday, have a look at that topic for a link to a good repairer.

When you say you removed v7, did the sound come back if you run v6 software?
