Sorry if this has been covered - I did a search but couldn't find anything.

I have recently updated my TT1 (old version) using the new TT Home (much easier than the previous version of TT Home! Smile ), but since then some strange things happen.

The first thing I have noticed is that occasionally whilst I am driving I get three, fairly quiet 'Bongs' from the speaker as if to warn of something. Now this is not something I have activated, like a POI warning and nor can I see any reason why they do it. It's not very often it does it but it does seem to be at the same spots.

Can anyone shed any light as to what these mean, what they are for - well, anything about them at all?

Thanks for your time Smile The other query I have put in a separate post Smile

Sounds like you have the new warning set to let you know you are going faster than the speed limit........................see safety preferences in menu.

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply!

I don't think it is anything to do with speed but I will check. I always try to drive within the speed limit and can't recall all the places these bongs have happened, though I know one it was on the approach to a roundabout which is national speed limit and so I was slowing down as I approached the roundabout.

Like I say, there appears to be nothing obvious, like perhaps a dangerous junction or level crossing or anything. It seems to have no logic as to why, though the place is fixed where it happens on the road. Smile

There are occasions where the map speed data is incorrect, so whilst you are at (or just under Cool ) the legal speed limit, the TomTom thinks you are over its speed limit so it will bong to warn you - Mike

Thanks for that - that was what it was and I never knew that feature was there! No more strange bongs now Smile
