TomTom Home downgrading my application!

I am running a TomTom One v2 Europe with Application 7.131 and Western Europe map v.710.1561. Tonight I connected to TomTom Home (version 2.1) and it offered to upgrade to the latest application, which I accepted. When it had finished I found that it would not see my new map, but could only recognise an older series 6 NavTeq map which I also keep on the same SD card. Further delving showed that the application had been changed to v6.560. I connected up again to Home, was once again offered an upgrade, but after installing it was still 6.560.
Fortunately I had a backup on my PC so formatted my card and copied it using a card reader and was soon back where I had started. But what on earth is TT Home playing at
