Prior to upgrading to latest software for my TomTom Go 500, I had assigned spoken warning sounds rather than the annoying beeps, bells and whistles that come with TomTom. I remember downloading the relevant files from this website somt considerable time ago. Nevertheless, I attached a microphone to my line in connection and recorded my own voive warnings using TomTom Home and stored the files as WAV sounds on my TomTom. I tried them out today but instead of my hysterical "Gatso 30" all I heard was an annoying beep. Can you explain what I have done wrong?

Thank you,

Regards,

TC

As far as I'm aware you can only use OGG Files for warnings.

There are a selection available for download Here.

Or perhaps download Audacity (free - Google for it), open your own WAVs and save them as OGG.

.oggs only if you put them in the map folder as per the normal instructions.

If you put them in the "sounds" folder in v7 you can also use .wavs (but they take up a LOT more room). They are then visible on the sound fx page (but the PGPSW ones have such long names that you cannot see the relevant part).
