This afternoon I have used the mapshare functionality to move POI's and delete POi's. Doing this with previous firmware installed was guarenteed to lose me my POI warnings which some of you may recall I've posted about previously. Well, after several goes at the same thing all my POI typed spoken voice alerts are still present. Maybe after all this firware has resolved this issue. If so thumbs up to tomtom. Mind you, it's lomg overdue! |

I spoke too soon. I created a brand new POI this morning for a local dentist, something I didn't do yesterday and wham....all links gone. Still not resolved. |

Well, we now know what's in the latest firware:
Version 7.221
(TomTom GO 520/720/920 only)
* Support for premium TMC service ‘InfoBlue’ in Italy (requires a TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic receiver)
* Other minor improvements
No mention of what was in the previous release. |

Since installing version 7.221 on my 520 I seem to have aquired a few random bongs and hooters and when I look at the list of speed cameras on the POI list there is a speaker symbol alongside each one that I haven't noticed before. Anyone else have this problem? _________________ Bazzza

The bongs and hooters won't be "random". It would help a lot if you could say what you were doing when you got one! (driving past a speed camera? Going faster than a certain speed?)
If you have set up spoken alerts and then disable the voice or switch to a non-TTS one, the POI warnings will revert to bongs.
As far as I can remember, the speaker symbol has always been there next to POI categories which have had warnings set. |

I got my returns packing today after a five day wait. Item was delayed, damaged in post
Queued up to door of my local post office with both its windows in operation which is on the closure list due to no trade.
So my wonderful 520 should be in Fife by this Friday.

As our wonderful TomTom devices are made in China perhaps they have they same quality control Matel had when it comes to lead paint?
I only really got the 520 for the Map Share which in my opinion is a con as most of your major corrections will only appear when a new map is released.
Back to my Nuvi 360 or my TT 910

Don't expect it back in a hurry - I've been waiting nearly 8 weeks now and the promise of "x months free TomTom Plus..." is beginning to wear thin.... should have bought the new Navman |
