Andy,

What is your feeling on the 710 maps?

Based on our posts on the 2 sites, it seems to be clear that the 710 WCE map is inferior to the WCE 675.1322 map. How could this be?

Did TT or TA mess up or is the 675.1322 map a Navteq? Even if this is the case, the 660 TA map has that Switch Island update that the 705 and 710 lack.

Andy reply:

Anyway, maps...
Who knows, and TT aren't telling.
I'm certain v675 WASN'T a Navteq
Maybe they HAVE used some out of date material and are frantically trying to sort it, but that's a pure guess, (although nothing else fits the evidence we see and the fact the maps seem to have disappeared.
I did see a post today saying that the downloads started to work again today.

Infama:
Apparently 675.1322 is a Navteq rider map. while 675.1409 is TeleAtlas...

The Rider map was, but the v675 Map for the rest of the models was definitely TeleAtlas (I had a UK v675 map)

Yes, but WHICH mile? Very Happy

All maps have errors, I've heard plenty of complaints about Navteq too. But they DO seem to have got sorted some of the major road changes in the UK which Tele Atlas have missed repeatedly.
