I work in the building trade, so I tend too be at the same location for awhile and I am looking for a way too mute the voices on route but keep the active alerts going (speed cams etc). Anyone have any info on this?

You don't say if you will have the route selected.

If the route is being used/displayed there used to be a 'silent voice' but I'm not sure if it is still available.

If you don't need the Route Guidance displayed you can select Clear Route and just set up Warn when Near by unticking the Warn only if on Route Option on the last screen.

On the x20 models (and maybe other models on v7 software) there is a menu option to "disable voice" which leaves the alerts still sounding (unless you've used text to speech for your alerts too!)

This DIDN'T work on v7.0xx (the icon was there but it didn't do anything with TTS voices), but seems to have been fixed in v7.210.

I can't find that option on 7.161

How did you get to it? I'm using the ogg files.

There still is a silent/blank voice going around.

Try Here - http://www.gpsice.co.uk/silentvoice.html

By choosing this one you get all the displays coming up, but no actual voice.

Hope this helps !

Hi what am I doing wrong:?: Question
I cannot get it to install this voice file, using Home ver 2.1.2.121
Then looking at the voice folder on the TT720 the file extension is not .rar as the download.

Cheers
Paul

Don't use Home to install it.
It comes from the good old 'pre-Home' days!

Looks like you might need the WinRAR archiver to uncompress it (a bit like Winzip)

WinRAR is shareware. There is a time-limited free version available HERE

Once unzipped, just copy the files into your voices folder using Windows Explorer.

It's on my L Drive under a folder called Silent Voice - Data99 I think. I used it on 720 #6 before I discovered the Mute Voice option. Embarassed
