How to setup Tomtom navigator to log to a file?

I'm using the software called Tracky, http://www.trackthisout.com and I've Tomtom Navigator v6. On the Tracky web site on Q&A there is this question:

Can I use Tracky at the same time when running TomTom navigation software?

Answer:

Yes you can. Tracky supports access to the GPS receiver by file to allow for parallel execution with e.g. TomTom navigator software. Configure TomTom such that it logs to a file. Next, select this file in the Tracky GPS configuration menu.

My question is.... where can I say to Tomtom to log to a file? Cannot find the option. Thanks.

Hi there
You can't on TomTom Navigator 5 for Pocket PC so you may well not be able to on 6 either.
Another approach would be to use GPSGate to receive the input from the GPS and feed it to both TomTom and your other app. Or indeed you could use GPSGate to log the GPS stream instead.
If you don't want to pay out again I'm sure I've seen reference to another app that does what GPSGate does and is free, but my memory ain't what it used to be and I've forgotten its name.
