Hi All,

Firstly sorry if this post is slightly offtopic, only im not up to speed these days with the latest gadgets available hence thats why im asking...

I am after a new GPS system for christmas, I was thinking of the new 920T when it comes out, but then again I would love something i can put in my pocket which has GPS on it, I could view Multimedia on, Listen to MP3s and possibly surf the web and even better if it can be a phone too - not necessary all at the same time!

I expect a PDA/XDA thingy is what i want? but do they come with built in GPS antennia and can use the tomtom nav software on? If so what models could someone suggest?

Many thanks for your help.

A PNA and PDA based phone are quite different animals, the x20 PNA devices are a great bit of kit and work very well using the latest maps and version 7 software.

The PDA based Phone can also provide a decent solution, but currently only the version 6 software is available which prevents access to the latest mapping data.
I use a HTC P3300 Artemis Phone and it is great with the TomTom software and built in GPS, others to consider are the newer HTC Polaris (not out just yet AFAIK) or the HTC Kaiser (T-Mobile Vario III).

There are a number of "badged" versions of the Artemis the O2 XDA Orbit which has full functionality or the T-Mobile MDA Compact III which has the GPS but lacks the WiFi of the XDA or HTC versions - Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for reply, i think the HTC P3300 Artemis Phone looks great and is pretty much what im after.

However seeing that the HTC Polaris is coming out soon with the better specs its worth hanging on, and as the TT920 will be pretty pricey i think its going to be an interesting self debate on what one i go for!
By sounds of it, both items are due out about the same time.

Thanks for your help again, just the advice i was after.
