Today, TT Home 2.1 offered me a new postcodes file for my v7.05 map
Clicking on "more info..." shows it is v603 8.7MB (no idea how you check the version of your original file)

Anybody got a problem code they would like me to check?

EDIT: For any new readers, this was all a Red Herring. As mentioned in later posts, Home had downloaded a very OLD file for some reason!

Please could you check the two below

SL0 0LR
TN13 1BH

Both are correct on Google Maps

I don't know about HOME 2, but in 1.5 if you are in the explore mode, you hover your cursor over the file description and it briefly gives the file details in a pop up.

Edit: 603 is the version of the zip file I'm using btw

Spikey, I found it just after I posted Smile .
In Home 2.1 you can check the version of your original postcodes file using "show the contents of my Go".

Madou:
SL0 0LR is showing as N 51.53467 W 0.53132 - the Uxbridge Road, Ivor Heath, just west of a roundabout with Wood lane.

TN13 1BH is showing as N 51.27438 E 0.18855 - London Road, Sevenoaks. North West of the junction with Eardley Road.

Andy

My point in the edit of my last post was that we have the same file whereas I'm using v6 maps. It doesn't sound like an update at all.

OH! Embarassed Hadn't spotted your edit. I wish I'd known how/bothered to check the version number before I updated it.

I might reinstall the old zip folder from a backup to see if it was different, but then again.... Laughing

More info:
The GB files in the zip folder are now dated 9/11/07 (while the Netherlands files are still 26/04/07)
The files in a previous backup are dated 03/09/07.

So the look like they HAVE changed but that TT (in a reversion to their old ways) haven't updated the version number...

Just for your info, the 603 zip file I have is dated 28/11/06, which is when I think I upgraded to TTN6 and v6 maps from TT5, and is the same size as yours at 8.7MB.

With new maps though I would have expected more postcode additions, so I am surprised that the file size hasn't changed. Although how many bytes does a postcode take up?

Would someone mind seeing if this postcode is on the new list ?

BRAVO NOVEMBER SIX NINE GOLF BRAVO
(spelt phonetically for OTT purposes)

I would do it myself but no broadbean at the moment, so want to know if its worth a long painful download.

Many Thanks

This should prove it one way or another, assuming Andy can find it.

That postcode (spelt phonetically or not Wink ) is not in my version 603 zip file.

Spikey, I think it makes sense.. The postcodes will work with any map, so if you've JUST bought a v6 map, it can still have the latest postcodes file sent out with it. But it's newer that what came with my 720 bought in August/September.

mpwilson99, there are NO BN6 postcodes in my list

Sorry Andy, I think you misread, i bought v6 a year ago.

I got as far as the BN6 9G but B doesn't exist, the nearest I get is BN6 9GL which takes me to Sayers Common (Hassocks)

Andy can you re-check the postcode given again, I don't have it listed but there are lots of BN6 codes listed on my 720 and One XL - Mike

Thank you. These are both correct in your version, but not in the postcodes that come with the Map of Western Europe v7.10 Rolling Eyes

That Post Code was correct; Royal Mail has it for numbers 1 through 18 of Meadow View, Sayers Common, Hassocks BN6 9GB.
