TT One 3rd, US/CDN.

Roadtrip, yay!

Except halfway through same road trip, the voice guidance first started to get choppy on occassion: "In 200 yards..." (sudden stop) Yes, what? Nothing. Now it doesn't make any sound at all!

Now what?

You ever tried finding a paper clip during a road trip? Laughing
It took me an hour to find one in my OFFICE the other day... Keep one with you! (I have a small safety pin attached to the case now).

Let's assume I did all the obvious steps, alright.

OK, if you've done ALL the obvious things then you'll have at least one backup to restore from?

If not, you might have "Restore to factory settings" in the menu. Nowhere near as good as a full restore from backup, but it fixed missing TTS voices for me once in the past.

Did both of that, too. I was hoping for a less obvious solution that I missed. Like in EyeTV (TV/DVR program for Mac) where you can only edit a recording, if "keep player on top" isn't checked.

Oh well, went back to the store and traded it for a One LE.

No sign of it on the UK TT website, and still not there if I switch it to US either. What's the difference? Or is it just the old One "New Edition"?

It's basically a One 2nd edition, made especially for us Americans, for purchase at Best Buy. And with the newest software and maps, ie. 7.162(8492/071121) and 710.1575

See, it's all your fault, Andy. Why should Kar98 tell you what he's already done when it's so much easier for him if you make all the effort to work it out?

And not a sign of a "Thank you for trying to help". Evil or Very Mad

That software version is not the latest (7.221 is) but I figured you would have known that ...

Yeah, I know that. But 7.221 is not entirely...compatible with the One range. Trying to select any kind of address will result in the device locking up and resetting.

Officially it's not for the ONE. This from TomTom -
Quote:
Version 7.221
(TomTom GO 520/720/920 only)

* Support for premium TMC service ‘InfoBlue’ in Italy (requires a TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic receiver)
* Other minor improvements
